Antonino Tranchina born in Palermo, in 1985, where he attended the University and obtained the Degree in ›Lettere‹. Then he attended the »Alma Mater« University, in Bologna, where he obtained the Master Degree in ›Arti visive‹, in 2011. He conducted his PhD research at »La Sapienza« – University of Rome, from 2011 to 2015 (Dissertation title: Testimonianze di cultura artistica di età  normanna nell’orbita del monastero del Salvatore dell’Acroterio presso Messina). As a Postdoc fellow at Bibliotheca Hertziana, he works on a research project whose title is Mirabile praesidium. Harbours and Monks in Southern Italy (11th–12th cent.).
