The Local OPAC differs from the collective KUBIKAT in that it is programmed to search the holdings of the Bibliotheca Hertziana alone. Thus monographs will only appear in the catalogue if the Hertziana actually owns a copy. The signature of copies owned by any of the three other KUBIKAT libraries will also be listed. For monographs held by the Hertziana, a simple red-green signal indicates the current status of the book. A red light indicates that book is on loan and not available. Articles are all listed, irrespective of whether or not the Hertziana owns a copy of the relevant periodical or collection. Switching to the KUBIKAT is possible at any time by clicking on the central Kubikat button.
Digital collective catalogue of the Art Libraries Network Florence-Paris-Munich-Rome. The holdings of the Bibliotheca Hertziana are included in full as a subset of the catalogue.
The KUBIKAT network is a member of the Bayerischen Bibliotheksverbundes. The holdings of the libraries in Florence, Paris, Munich and Rome listed in the KUBIKAT are therefore also included in the Gateway Bayern. This much broader catalogue does not offer all the functions of the KUBIKAT, but a search can be profitable, especially if the rich, partly digitised, older holdings of the Bavarian libraries are to be searched as well. The full range of Gateway Bayern library services can now be accessed by Smartphone.
Meta-search in library networks in Germany and abroad. The holdings of the KUBIKAT network and, with it, those of the Bibliotheca Hertziana are included through the Bavarian Library Network.
Meta-search in the most important international art libraries including KUBIKAT, which provided the starting point for this globally used instrument.
