RIHA Journal

The RIHA Journal is a scientific e-journal published by the International Association of Research Institutes in the History of Art, of which the Bibliotheca Hertziana is a member.

All contributions are subjected to a peer review process and published as open access documents. Dedicated to the full spectrum of the history of art and visual culture, the RIHA Journal publishes papers on local, regional or transnational topics that serve to enrich the disciplines of art history and visual studies and address central theoretical issues.

As a joint endeavour of the RIHA Institutes, the journal seeks to publish research findings by scholars of all nationalities, thus making a significant contribution to transcending the boundaries between scientific communities of different nations. Essay manuscripts in English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish of 20,000 to 50,000 characters can be submitted to the editorial board at any time: .
