First published in Munich in 1915, Kunstgeschichtliche Grundbegriffe has gone through 19 editions and been translated into over 20 languages, making it the most successful book in the history of art history. This edition will be the first to provide a scholarly commentary on the work and to include important documents from the time of its creation. Most of the commentary was completed in 2023.
