From Piranesi to Contemporary Art. Visit to the workshop and to the archive of the Istituto Centrale per la Grafica

Located in the very building of the Fontana di Trevi, the Istituto Centrale per la Grafica is a museum dedicated to the collection of graphic art from the early modern period until today. The institute contains a gallery, an archive and a large workshop, where a variety of etching and printing techniques are kept in practice and where from time to time collaborations with contemporary artists take place.
In his Field Seminar Christoph Keller, "artist in residence" at the Bibliotheca Hertziana invites to a guided visit to the etching workshop – where he had the opportunity to develop an artistic project based on photogravure in the fall and where currently a series of prints from original Piranesi etchings on copper plates are being made – as well as to the archive of the Istituto.

Christoph Keller: His work is research-based and presented in the form of installations and films, such as Anarcheology and Small Survey on Nothingness, 2014, as well as in publications such as Observatorium, 2008 and Paranomia, 2016.
